Sometimes, a person can write one thing and, without meaning it, have the thought take on a completely different, albeit hilarious yet apt meaning. And thanks to Twitter, where one is limited to using just 140 characters, abbreviations take on a life of their own -- like one for Social Security.
Moments ago, I received a Tweet from NeilpX, who was attempting to be critical of the GOP's heavy-handed efforts in trying to cut back on social programs -- threatening to let people go without food and die, threatening to bully and shut down the government, And in doing so, with one particular abbreviation, he made a laugh-out-loud comparison of the far right to about as "heavy-handed" an organization as there has been in history. He wrote -- "Republican ideologues will NEVER listen to reason until they lose their food stamps, their SS, their Medicare, their health insurance" I wrote back my agreement, particularly about Republicans needing first to cut ties with the SS.
