As readers of this site -- and in particular, those who regularly read my daily "Bob Sledding" reports about the Olympics -- will thoroughly understand, I'm overjoyed with this week's episode, because the guest contestant is my favorite Olympic athlete from the entire U.S. team, gold medal cross-country skier Jessie Diggins. And not shockingly, the interview is a total joy -- helped by the reality that a few weeks ago panelist Paula Poundstone had made funny, but disparaging remarks about cross country skiing...when the entire ski team was well-aware about. Diggins is a tremendous athlete, perhaps the top skier today on the women's team, but she always downplays that, praising her fellow-teammates and calling herself the "team cheerleader." After this interview with host Peter Sagal, you'll have an even better idea why.
