This Piano Puzzler is very nice -- but tough. I incorrectly guessed the composer who's style the piece is written in...and the contestant guessed the same composer -- and so too did host Fred Child. And no one had a clue with the song...which is fascinating, because it's pretty well-known, and in fact one of my favorites. But it's well-hidden, and overall the Puzzler is a terrific piece.
The piece doesn't get repeated in full. Because the contestant jumps in early the second time around with another guess (and is wrong...), that seems to throw things off. So, if you want to hear the selection performed when knowing what it is, you'll have to go back to the beginning and listen again. It's worth it, to see how well Bruce Adolphe rearranged things.
