Well, it's that time again, for The Writers Workbench tech column, and I figured that now is as good a time as any so that there's at least something here to read as I fly over this fine land of ours. (The elves will be around take care of any questions you may have in the meantime...)
As I say each month, it's a convoluted matter to code the column with all its links and graphics, so instead I provide a link to it here on the Writers Guild website. (It'll also be on the Huffington Post, but I haven't sent it to them yet.
Over the past few months, I mentioned a few "Early Looks" at two intriguing products from HP, their Stream 11 Windows 8.1 notebook (that's only $199), and the Stream 7 Windows 8.1 tablet -- that just a bizarre $99. And both include a one-year subscription to Office 365, which is a $70 value. The column this month is a much more in-depth look at the two products, to see if they live up to the promise. (Short answer: yes.)
Again, for thems what are interested in such things, you can find The Writers Workbench column here on the WGA website.
Robert J. Elisberg is a political commentator, screenwriter, novelist, tech writer and also some other things that I just tend to keep forgetting.
