Dear Barry Manilow Fans:
Or, if memory serves, the correct term is Fanilows. (Either that or "Trekkers," though I'm pretty sure the former.) Welcome to the friendly environs of Elisberg Industries. Feel free to roam around, take your shoes off, and there's cheese dip in the refrigerator. Robert J. Elisberg Concierge Usually when I post something here, it gets a handful of Facebook "Likes" at most. Usually none or a couple at most most, and perhaps half a dozen is high. I think that 14 is the record. Sorry, make that "was" the record. I just noticed that my story about the opening of the musical Harmony now has 36 "Likes". Perhaps one day I may even get around to writing a piece about when I worked for the Ravinia Music Festival outside of Chicago, usually in their then-downtown office, but would work backstage on pop nights, and was there when Barry Manilow was the opening act for The Carpenters. If you decide to just get a day pass, thanks for stopping by, regardless. It was nice of you. For those however who stick around for a bit to see what else is here -- or to translate into Manilese, those of you who came and who stayed without taking -- it looks like we made it. You'll find an after-dinner mint on your pillow. P.S. I was right. By the time I finished writing this, the number of Facebook "Likes" jumped to 37...
