“David — please stop reaching out to me.”
-- Eric Trump to Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold Actually, this has since been bumped up to Quote of the Month, and therefore is now officially eligible to be Quote of the Year. David Fahrenthold, you will recall, won his Pulitzer Prize for a remarkable series of articles doggedly trying to track down any evidence of donations to charities that Donald Trump may have made, but found pretty much nothing at all had been actually donated. This particular quote above from elephant hunter-bon vivant and fan boy of white supremacist webisite Eric Trump in response to Fahrenthold checking up for a comment on a story he and Rob Kuznia were writing about how business has plummeted drastically at a Trump golf course in California, built in Los Angeles County. Not just greens fees, but charity events (one even forfeited its deposit), weddings and bookings for filming, as well -- including the venue's facilities, like the restaurant where only two people were dining the night the reporter was there. In fairness to Eric Trump, Fahrenthold notes that the paper had reached out to numerous people in the Trump organization for a comment, and that quote from son Eric was the only reply they got. And further, he politely added "Thank you" at the end. You can read the whole article here.
