On the bottom of many web pages, there will be paid links to stories on other websites. The other day, I came across one that caught my eye. It was for a site called Answers.com, and had the following -- Now, for those of you trying to figure this out, those are pictures of Anna Chlumsky, who came to fame starring opposite Macauley Culkin in the film, My Girl.
Rather than "disappearing from Hollywood," though, Ms. Chlumsky has actually had quite an active and successful career, even if under the wire as a Major A-List Star. But perhaps if you're "under the wire" that's too far out of eyesight for Answers.com. Among just some of her credits, Anna Chlumsky starred in the movie, Gold Diggers (written by my friend Barry Glasser), co-starred in the Oscar-nominated film In the Loop directed and co-written by Armando Iannucci of Veep, was a regular on the series Cupid, appeared in a couple episodes of Law & Order, had a recurring role on White Collar, and currently has a recurring role on the series Hannibal, guested in the series 30 Rock, Army Wives, Covert Affairs, Early Edition and many more, has been in several feature films and starred in a couple of TV movies...and for the past four years has been a series regular on the hit HBO show, Veep!!!! If Anna Chlumsky has "disappeared" from Hollywood, that would only be because she's been busy working out of town or inside soundstages where the crack minds of Answers.com couldn't see her. To be fair, I didn't read the article, so Answers.com may have noted all this. But if so, that would qualify as one of the world's worst come-ons, asking specifically about "14" child actors who disappeared from Hollywood and showing a picture of one of the busiest of them. On the other hand, we did learn something. Not to reply to Answers.com for your answers.
