The great treat, for me, of these Mystery Guest sequences from What's My Line? is not just seeing all these legends, but people who you would never expect to find ever appearing as a contestant on a game show. It might be erudite, but it's still a game show. And in this case, for example, the legend is Noel Coward. Fun, too, in this appearance is that one of the panelists is Robert Preston. He doesn't do a great deal here, but then Robert Preston doesn't have to do a great deal for it to be worthwhile. As a side note, the show that Coward is in town for is The Girl Who Came to Supper, for which he wrote the music and lyrics. (He didn't appear in it. The musical starred Florence Henderson and Jose Ferrer.) It's based on a play by Terrence Rattigan, The Sleeping Prince -- but while it might not be familiar to audience from that, or the musical, which ran for 112 performance, it's probably best known to people for its movie adaptation with Laurence Olivier and Marilyn Monroe, The Prince and the Showgirl.
