As I've noted in the past, there’s a network called GetTV which on my system in West L.A. is channel 1283 (you're mileage is most likely vary), which runs old classic -- and non-classic TV show -- and this month they’re having old Christmas specials at 6 PM (repeated at 9 PM), L.A. time.
Tonight (Monday), they are airing a Johnny Cash Christmas Special from 1977. I mention this for a particular reason, if one is a classic music fan. That's because his guests include Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and Carl Perkins. There are other good guest (like my faves, the Statler Bros.), but if one only cares for these special guests, one can always record the show and fast-forward… If you don't know the channel number of GetTV in your area, click on this link here and enter your zip code, then scroll down through the local providers to yours.

I found the amount of non-Christmas music in the show rather odd. Viewers turn on a Christmas special, especially one hosted by a singer, for Christmas music. The network must have been thrilled. Oh well, on to Mac Davis next Monday.

Yes, I agree, it was noticeable and a bit odd. Though it was also more "religious" than most primetime network music specials with all the footage of him wandering around Bethlehem. Then again, how often do you get to see Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison singing Christmas carols??!
