There was something almost whimsical on Friday about hearing in oral arguments that the federal judge had harshly questioned the Special Counsel's office for His Honor's belief that they were only going after Paul Manafort in order to just get Trump.
"Mr. Ness, I believe that you are just using his bookkeeper to get to Mr. Capone."
Okay, quips aside, there's a massive difference between prosecutors legitimately going after little fish in order for them to catch the whale -- and legitimately going after the freaking former PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN CHAIRMAN (!) who may have been conspiring with Russia to influence the election. (Most notably to change the Republican platform at the GOP Convention in order to weaken Ukraine defenses and benefit Russia in exchange for...favors.)
