Happy Jamie Raskin Day
We're going to turn the floor over to Jamie Raskin today, because he had a tremendous day yesterday with your shining moments.
The first is Rep. Raskin giving a superb 3-minute speech on the House floor, shredding the Republican effort to have an "impeachment hearing."
And the second was an op-ed he wrote for the CNN website, that dealt with Elise Stefanik (R-NY) who has been trying to position herself as the supposed Queen of Outrage over anti-Semitism on college campuses.
It’s somewhat similar to a point I made in my article yesterday, as well as a reply I made on Twitter to a tweet Stefanik had posted -- somewhat the same, but not as long, not as pointed, and not remotely as eloquent as Raskin. But the spirit was the same. What I wrote was:
"When Elise Stefanik (R-NY) blisteringly condemns Trump's dinner guest Nick Fuentes, who yesterday called for the 'absolute annihilation' of 'perfidious Jews' & all non-Christians, THEN she can maybe start saying her 'investigation' of anti-Semitism at colleges isn't political."
Jamie Raskin said it far, far better.
He does address Fuentes, although it was clearly written before Fuentes's "annihilate the Jews" speech, so it doesn't deal with that. However, what it does say is masterful -- with a wonderful, detailed introduction and then five, easy "yes/no" questions to the faux-crusader Ms. Stefanik. You can read it here.
