And here's the proof that Cynthia Garris (daughter of Louis Zamperini) did indeed make it to the Rose Parade as Grand Marshal, sitting in for her father. She's there in the last row of the car with her brother. This was at the beginning of the parade, about 15 minutes in -- I trust they were still smiling and waving by the end, two hours later, though it was 34-degrees at the start, which gives new meaning to the phrase, "a frozen smile." (Of course it probably warmed up later.)
As a bonus, that's her husband in the front passenger seat, the oft-mentioned here writer-director Mick Garris . Apparently he went along for the ride...
