Okay, as you can imagine, today is going to be Cubs Day. I know the last few days have generally been that, too, but this is wall-to-wall. It took 108 years to get here, so that's the way it goes.
The other day I posted a view of the song by Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, "All the Way," about the Cubs. There are a number of wonderful renditions of the song which I was trying to choose between. One that I came close to using, but decided to hold off in case they won was this one.
This is an in-concert version of Vedder performing the song last year as he invites the Cubs players present on stage to join him. The first one out is pitcher Jon Lester, who's later joined by others, most of whom are still on this World Champions team. Team president Theo Epstein is there, as well, and at the 3:35 mark, manager Joe Maddon joins him, both standing there on the far left.
Someday We'll Go All The Way.
Someday is yesterday.
