This doesn't come from the original run of What's My Line?, but a later return of the show. Keeping ties with the original is one of its regular panelists, Arlene Francis. Also worth noting is that the host is Larry Blyden -- who co-starred with Alan Alda in the Broadway musical, The Apple Tree. (And making one of connection, the show was written by Jerry Bock and...Sheldon Harnick, who we wrote about yesterday for his 90th birthday.)
Today on What's My Line?, the Mystery Guest is Robert Alda. Who is Robert Alda, some of you say? His last name certainly sounds interesting. For good reason. Robert Alda is the father of Alan Alda. And he was a major star in his own right, most famously playing Skye Masterson in the original Broadway production of Guys & Dolls. He also sounds remarkably like his son. In fact, making this all the more fun is that one of the panelists is...his son. Alan Alda.
