It turns out that while a dog may be Man's best friend, some dogs are even more adventurous.. As I've noted in the past, I just love videos of cross-species animals who've become great pals. Perhaps the most fun ones are those where the species would otherwise be natural enemies. But at about the same level are those that are just so unlikely. This falls into that. And it's a gem. These are two great pals. A dog and an elephant. Go figure. Bella and Bubbles. And oddly enough, it came about because of abandonment. A contractor was hired to build a pool at Myrtle Beach Safari in South Carolina. The contractor left behind his dog, Bella. And the park adopted it. It turned out that both Bella and Bubbles the elephant loved the water. And soon enough, one another. By the way, while we often express wonderment at cross-species friendships with animals, it's worth remembering that we're a part of that, as well. When humans bond with their pets, it's as cross-species as any other. The difference, I guess, is that our pets are domesticated, and so many of these others are "in the wild." But still, it's all a treat.
