I post a bunch of songs from Steve Goodman here, and a few from his good pal John Prine. But I really haven't had much for the third of the singers who were at the forefront of the Chicago folk scene at its height in the 1970s and 1980s. And that would be Bonnie Koloc. I did write about her here, though, and embedded one of her most popular songs, "Roll Me on the Water."
So, here's another one. And it's a nice bridge, as well, since it's a Steve Goodman song, "I Can't Sleep."
Inexplicably, Bonnie Koloc never quite broke through nationally, even a few steps less than Goodman and much less than Prine. But she was wonderful and did have some success. And she's still singing. And it's always a joy to hear her.
