Wait, Wait...
The celebrity contestant on this week's "Not My Job" segment of the NPR comedy new quiz show Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me" the singer-songwriter, Jewel. Coming from Homer, Alaska, she tells a wonderful story about a huge life-changing favor done for her -- before her career kicked off -- by the one-other Homer celebrity, Tom Bodett. His name is mostly likely not overly-familiar to many people, though will be to some with good memories, but his voice most definitely is, from his voiceovers on the Motel 6 TV ads, ("We'll keep the light on for you..."). He also had a wonderful Prairie Home Companion-like show on NPR that was broadcast from Homer, The End of the Road. Making the interview all the more charming is that one of the panelists on the show this particular week was...Tom Bodett.
