The Kennedy Center Honors are tonight, and Dick Van Dyke is one of the honorees.  I wrote about this about eight months ago or so, but it bears repeating, since for the life of me I can't figure it out.  Assuming there’s an audience when they put the evening together (which is not a safe assumption, but here's hoping they figured something out), I suspect he’ll get the biggest and warmest ovation of the night.

By the way, a correction on what I wrote below -- he won a fifth Emmy Award, when you include the one for Daytime Emmys.  And he also won a Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award back in 2013, and also a Grammy.  So...yeah, what on earth were the Kennedy Center people waiting for??!!

And as a bonus, here's a really nice piece that CBS This Morning did on him last week, leading up to the show tonight.
