Today's Piano Puzzler

We have a new one this week.  The contestant is Ann Kirschner from Brooklyn, New York.  To my shock, I got the composer style (and even the piece it’s based on) in literally just two notes.  But then, I’ll be equally shocked if others don’t get the style (and likely the piece) pretty quickly.  The problem is that the composer style is so pronounced – as the contestant noted, as well – that it’s hard to get that out of your mind.  But then, after a couple minutes, there was a passage where I heard something and was sure I got it.  And I did.  O huzzah!  (When pianist Bruce Adolph plays the piece a second time, he brings the hidden song out much more clearly, and it should be easily gotten, I think ) The contestant still didn’t get it – until host Fred Childe gave her a clue in wonderfully clever and funny way….which has a connection to a charming story Ms. Kirschner tells at the beginning)
