The Popcorn Watch Party Returns
A short while back, I wrote about all the videos where people watch a classic movie for the first time, and we see them reacting and commenting, while the movie itself plays in a box on the screen. (The films are generally edited down to 30-45 minutes.) After checking out a few, the ones I like the most go by the name “Popcorn in Bed,” hosted by a young Canadian woman named Cassie. In more recent times, her younger sister joins her, but tonight it’s just Cassie alone.
When I saw on YouTube a link for her watching “The Sting,” I had to take a look at this one. She loves movies, is willing to try older films (even black & white) and the joy of hers over the others I’ve taken a look at is that she wears her emotions on her sleeve and is a tremendously entertaining reactor. So, I figured that “The Sting,” with all its many surprises and twists, would be a joy. And, oh, man, is it ever. “WHAT???!!” is a word you will hear a lot here. I will say no more.
