More What's My Line?
For the “Mystery Guest” segment on What’s My Line?” the contestant is Warren Beatty from 1966. The conversation afterwards runs longer than most – though the bulk of it is from the panelists, Beaty himself participates but is fairly soft-spoken. Watching this, I flashed back a few years to when he did a Q&A at the Writers Guild Theatre after his latest film. He showed up with bodyguards, the only time I saw that at a WGA Q&A – though in fairness, for all I know there may have been a good reason for it. And I was quite taken by how utterly boring and pretentious he was. Whether that’s how he always was through his years, or he was having an off-night, or over time he just developed that way, who knows?, but I eventually left before the evening finished.
If you want to jump directly to the Mystery Guest segment, it starts around the 18:15 mark.
