More What's My Line?

For the “Mystery Guest” segment on What’s My Line?” the contestant is Lucille Ball.  This is from very early in the show’s run, 1954.  What leaps out here is how far she goes to disguise herself by creating a loopy persona, and not only sticks with it, but builds her answers throughout.  That might not make much sense now, but it will be clear when you see it, much to the delight not only of the audience, but the panel, as well.  And as the two-time recipient of the Lucille Ball Award for Comedy Screenwriting, when at UCLA in grad school, I approve this message.

The video in full is her appearance, rather than the whole show, so there’s no need to jump to it.
