Let's Do Lunch
On this week’s Naked Lunch podcast, co-hosts Phil Rosenthal and David Wild write that they are “thrilled to welcome a great friend -- beloved actress, best-selling author, humanitarian Kimberly Williams-Paisley to Naked Lunch. Kimberly is hosting the new season of the Fox dating competition series, Farmer Wants A Wife which premiered on March 20. They discuss Kimberly's frightening experience losing her voice for two years and how she eventually regained it -- also the subject of a recent People magazine cover story on her. Kimberly shares powerful and often funny stories from her long and impressive career, including how starring as the bride in the Father of the Bride movies forever changed not simply her career on screen, but ultimately her entire life. They also discuss the remarkable story of how Kim and her husband Brad Paisley started The Store (www.thestore.org), in Nashville, Tennessee, bringing together a dedicated community to combat food insecurity in Middle Tennessee with dignity and respect.”
One quibble: given her long career, they spend far much too much time (10 minutes) on the Father Wants a Wife reality show. That aside, it’s a charming, fun conversation. And not shockingly, I also like that several times through the interview she mentions going to the beloved Northwestern University (which she was attending when she got cast in Father of the Bride). For that matter, her younger sister, actress Ashley Williams, followed her to Northwestern.
One technical addendum: around 20 minutes in or so, the video periodically goes black for several minutes. It eventually clears up.
