Harpo Returns
On Tuesday, I posted a video of Chico Marx pretending to be Harpo as the contestant on I've Got a Secret. Well, today...we actually have Harpo on I've Got a Secret. He's interviewed by host Garry Moore and questioned about his secret by the panelists for almost 12 minutes, which isn't shabby for a guest who doesn't talk -- and the panelists have to guess his his pantomimed answers.
It's not terribly successful, though still wonderfully fun. This comes 1961 when he was promoting his book, Harpo Speaks. Making this additionally notable is that Johnny Carson is one of the panelists. Also, panelist Henry Morgan is impressively good at the guessing.
As a bonus, this is Harpo on You Bet Your Life with Groucho plugging his book. It's only a fairly brief appearance at the beginning, but it's a treat seeing them together.
