A Writers Guild friend, Bill Braunstein, and three of his friends -- TV Critics Award-winner David Garber, WGA Award-winner Lawrence Levy, and writer/producer John Tellegen -- have come up with a very clever idea, and an entertaining website. It's called, “A Few Minutes With…” I''ve come to it late -- there are 20 stories already -- but hey, better late than never. These are a collection of very short stories about 26-year-old Kyle Benson. His life keeps screwing up, and whenever he desperately needs advice, some very famous, dead person shows up to help. (They aren't really there, of course, but the thing is, Kyle believes they are and has conversations with them. He has a condition called Paranoiac Schizophrenic Disorder, which is an actual ailment.) Yes, yes, it's text, I know. But then, you clearly enjoy text or you wouldn't be reading this right now. For those who really need more than just words, the stories do all have nice color pictures illustrating them -- and on occasion they even embed related-videos. So, there, you're covered.
And the short stories really are short. Of course, you can wait and check it out later when it becomes a TV series or web-series. I wouldn't put it past these guys -- they're very talented and experienced. But no need to wait, be the first on your block and impress your friends later that you knew about it far-before they did. Anyway, it's well-worth checking out here. The new story has Steve Jobs doing his best to help the hapless Kyle.
