On this week’s episode of 3rd & Fairfax, the official podcast of the Writers Guild of America, the guests are the creators, showrunners, and married writing partners Francesca Delbanco & Nicholas Stoller, who talk about crafting Season 2 of their AppleTV+ comedy series Platonic, along with tips for pitching, what they look for when staffing writers’ rooms, and much more.

On this week’s ‘Not My Job’ segment of the NPR quiz show Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me!, the guest contestant is offbeat science writer Mary Roach.  Her conversation with host Peter Sagal is equally offbeat as she talks about how her interests in childhood later built into her writing a regular column in Salon, and then into books. And an offbeat experience interviewing Tom Cruise.

This is the full Wait, Wait… broadcast, but you can jump directly to the “Not My Job” segment, it starts right before the 20:15 mark.

On this "The Weekly Show" podcast with Jon Stewart, his guest is Lindsay Owens, President and CEO of the Groundwork Collaborative. As the show writes, "As the Fed battles inflation and Americans bear the costs, Jon is joined by Lindsay Owens, author of the new book 'Gouged: The End of a Fair Price-and What That Means for Your Wallet.' Together, they uncover how corporations collude to manipulate prices-and expose the new tools and technologies companies are using to track us, target us, and charge us more at checkout. Plus, Jon answers listeners' questions about whether there's any point in even asking Trump questions, the Supreme Court, and when to decorate for Halloween!"

Author

Robert J. Elisberg is a political commentator, screenwriter, novelist, tech writer and also some other things that I just tend to keep forgetting.

Elisberg is a two-time recipient of the Lucille Ball Award for comedy screenwriting. He's written for film, TV, the stage, has two sort-of best-selling novels, and was a regular columnist for the Writers Guild of America and Huffington Post.  Among his other writing, he's had a long-time column on technology (which he sometimes understands), and co-wrote a book on world travel.  As a lyricist, he is a member of ASCAP, and has contributed to numerous publications.
