Tech Tip

I haven't tested this, so I can't comment on how well it works or not.  But I get lots of emails and press releases from tech companies, and often things come along that don't necessary fit in any of my tech column needs (at least at the moment), but look worth passing along for others to check out, if they fit your needs.  I'll try to do that from time to time.

One such came in today.  It's the Satechi Multifunction Mini Router.  The main things of interest are -- 1) If you travel, you can seemingly set up a wireless connection easily, like if you're in a hotel and don't want to be tethered to the room's Ethernet cable, 2) If you have a a weak WiFi connection in part of your house, this will boost the signal, and 3) It can of course be your main router.

Satechi generally makes respectable products, though I haven't come across anything from them in this area.  Mainly, speakers, chargers, transmitters and peripherals like that.  But if this intrigues you, here's a pretty-detailed YouTube video demonstrating how it works.
