Having a Voice

Here’s another clip from the Australia version of The Voice, which seems to do a great job with dramatic moments. This has several in them, starting with the singer giving real meaning to “blind auditions.” But there’s more, so stick with it to the end. The coaches here are Keith Urban, Jess Mauboy (who you may recall as the focus of an earlier clip with the team who help give her a start when she was 14), Guy Sebastian (who won the Australian Idol in 2003 and always across as one of the kindest, most nurturing of judges, and from all the videos of the show I’ve seen is probably my favorite – though, in fairness, so many of the judges on The Voice: Australia are incredibly kind, in fact several of them leap out), and Rita Ora, whose work I don’t know, but is very popular in England. I mention all this for a reason. So, stick around.
As a bonus, since they mention in the previous video that Guy Sebastian had performed this same song on Australian Idol in 2003 (and, in fact, won that competition), I thought it would be interesting to post that performance from 23 years ago.
