Food for Thought

Since it's Yom Kippur today, and a day for fasting, I thought it only appropriate to post the song, "Food, Glorious Food" from Oliver!

This version though isn't from Oliver!, but rather than unexpected musical number that breaks out near the beginning of the animated film, Ice Age 2:  The Meltdown.

The point of the scene is that the main animal character are wandering across the landscape, helpless, and ripe for the pickings by vultures, and...well, you'll see.

They've adapted some of the original lyrics for the scene, and I must say that they did...well, a truly terrible job.  In several of the places, the words don't even rhyme.  I don't have a clue what they were thinking.  Did nobody notice?  Or worse, not care?

Anyway, it was still sort of fun to see the song where I least expected it.  Like here, on Yom Kippur...
