At the Old Ballgame

Last night, the beloved Chicago Cubs were playing their big rival, the St. Louis Cardinals.  It was the bottom of the sixth inning, with the Cubs losing by a run.  Two men were on base, there were two outs, and batter Chris Coghlan had a 3-2 count on him.

Cardinals pitcher Carlos Martinez is known for having a "quick pitch" to throw the timing off for batters.  So, Coghlan asked the umpire for a time-out and stepped out of the batter's box.  The problem was that because Martinez was even quicker, the umpire didn't grant Coghlan's request.  And so with two strikes already on him, he had to rush back to the plate as the ball was on its way.  And...well, this is what happened.
