Yes, Virginia, There is a "Mrs. Santa Claus"

This is an update of sorts.  And a good one.

On Friday for the Holiday Music Fest, I wrote about a very good 1996 TV musical Mrs. Santa Claus that starred Angela Lansbury with Oscar-nominee Charles Durning (as Santa Claus) and a couple of other Tony Award-winners in the supporting cast and a very good score by Jerry Herman. I said that the movie was quite enjoyable, but I'd been unable to find it on TV since and couldn't understand why not.

Well -- I type here and it comes out there: it was on the Movies! channel yesterday!! (Clearly, someone at the Movies! channel must have read by article here and realized they had to program it right away.)  I only came across it too late to post anything about it being on, though I was able to catch up with the last 45 minutes.  And it held up to my memory, of being a very enjoyable, light TV movie with wonderful songs.  Hopefully this means it will be in their rotation for Christmas seasons ahead.

But further good news:  it will repeat on Christmas Day at 3 PM (L.A. time)!  You can go here to the the Movies! website and find out where the channel airs in your area.  I'll post a Media Alert reminder ahead of time for those who might want to DVR it.
