Writers Talk

On this week’s episode of 3rd &  Fairfax, the official podcast of the Writers Guild of America, the guests are Brian Donovan & Ed Herro, creators-showrunners of the Apple TV+ limited series The Sticky, extremely loosely-inspired by the great Canadian maple syrup heist.  Their credits include the series American Housewife, and The Neighbors.  They talk here about their journey to bring the dark comedy caper to the screen, the challenges of shooting on location, the art of pitching, and more.

Side Note: I watched The Sticky, and it’s absolutely terrific.  My only quibble is that a friend told me the story is resolved at the end -- since he knows I greatly dislike “cliff-hangers.”  And although the core stories sort-of, kind-of do get resolved, in a way – there are so many unresolved stories that it’s clear they’re hoping for a second season.
