After every Trump tweetstorm, but most especially the latest one about witch hunts and Hillary Clinton and Rod Rosenstein and Richard Mueller that is becoming frenetic to the point of a national meltdown, I keep remembering a favorite line from Woody Allen's Bananas, after the South American coup and the new despot, El Presidente, proclaims a long list of comically lunatic rules. like "From now own, everyone must wear their underwear on the outside."
I was going to give the punchline, but actually found the scene. Woody Allen has a funny set-up, but it's his companion who gets the joke.
Robert J. Elisberg is a political commentator, screenwriter, novelist, tech writer and also some other things that I just tend to keep forgetting.
