I happened to come across this video from Sesame Street of an old song that I'd never heard before. It is so utterly charming and infectious. And the fact that it's this infectious makes it completely unsurprising to find that they used it quite a bit on the show.
To at least give credit for a song about not knowing the name of the song, the lyrics by David Axelrod, and music by Sam Pottle. Pottle's best known song, other than this, is probably the theme to The Muppet Show, which he co-wrote with Jim Henson.
I suspect you'll be humming this one for a while after hearing it...
