War and Peace Update

Well, I'm not up to the 600-page mark. Only 855 to go.

The latest doings -- Prince Nikolai learned that Count Nikolai has taken service in the army, while Prince Andrei told Prince Boris that Princess Helen has married Count Pierre whose cousin Princess Katerina has received a smaller stipend than expected which was left to her by the late Count Kiril whose distant cousin Princess Anne had implored Prince Vasily to intercede on her behalf, as Countess Natasha attends her first ball and has caught the eye of the window of Princess Lisa.who died giving birth to Prince Nikolai, Jr.

It's a prince of a novel, where you can count on many relationships overlapping.

Ah, but not as big a spoiler as you think. Because it remains to be seen *whose* Peace? That of the Prince? Or perhaps the Prince? Or the Princess? Or Count? Or Princess? Or maybe the Prince? Or it could be the Count? Or Countess? Or even possibly even the Prince?!! Or Boris?

The thing is, already the Princess has died in childbirth. And the elderly Count has died. And the Prince is now in poor health and appears to be fading. And his son the Prince is recuperating from a bad War wound that left him near death. And the Countess is ailing so poorly she couldn't come to Moscow from Petersburg with the Count.

So, there is much yet to be determined. And only 784 pages left now for Tolstoy to wrap it up. And since I'm coming up on the halfway point fast, it should all be spinning wildly out of control soon.
