On Saturday, Notre Dame defeated Louisville in a wildly entertaining basketball game that took a remarkable five overtimes.  Louisville was up by six point with only 30 seconds to go, when the Fighting Irish came back to tie it.  I watched all the OT's, and it was wonderful.

The thing is, it's not only not the best I've seen, but isn't even the best in the last four years.

Almost four years ago (it'll be four years in a month...), I watched the greatest basketball game I’ve seen on March 12, 2009 – Syracuse vs. Connecticut in the Big East tournament that went a bizarre six overtimes.  It was great for simply being a game, but even better because this was a tournament game, where whoever lost got eliminated for the post-season NCAA championship tournament.

Here’s the video.  As you’ll see, it was an amazing game.  And that’s knowing that it went six overtimes.  Imagine watching it, and not knowing the result.  Even if you're not a big sports fan or don't like basketball, this is still a joy to watch for the enthusiasm and palpable reaction of the players, crowd and announcers --
