It turns out that Trump's endorsement actually lost Kevin McCarthy a vote.  And bizarrely helped Hakeem Jeffries.

It seems that when Kevin McCarthy moved his material into the Speaker's office the other day, that might have been premature.  No word yet, though, on if he can get his deposit back from the movers.  I can only imagine the TV coverage if/when the movers come to remove it all.

Note to the current "Democracy is Messy" theme that Republicans are trying to make people think explains their inability to elect a Speaker -- Democracy is made messier when you enable an Insurrection and embrace Insurrectionists seated among you. And shut down a committee investing who caused the Insurrection.

P.S. For the past year, Republicans have been crying out that the United States is supposedly not a democracy, but a republic.  But now, when they're screwing their party disastrously, it seems they're happy to grasp at reality and cry out for democracy because "democracy is messy."
