Ukraine Update
As I mentioned a while back, my cousin's wife is from Kyiv, and her parents still live there. And have chosen to stay in their home. I check in from time to time -- and asked if they were able to get the awful news about Bucha. I meant to post this the other day, but a few days belatedly, here's her latest.
"They are fine. Even though it is been sounds of rockets and some explosions. They can be outside only at certain time. My parents try to stay calm but they feel danger and uncertainty. But economy is working, they go grocery shopping, so it is nice. They have access to the social media, so they know what is going on, but they still prefer to stay, just like majority of people."
It's good to know they're able to deal with conditions, but what a hellish way to have to live their lives, most especially compared to how comfortable it was only about a month ago.
As she put it, "Yes, they don’t need this excitement at their age especially. I hope things will calm down and life will be safer."
