Of course, whether or not he "really" didn't know beforehand, (Vegas is NOT taking sucker bets on this..), the issue is moot.  Richard Nixon actually didn't know about Watergate, yet it was the cover-up which did him in, and the resigned the presidency.  And we know that Trump knew - since there is testimony that he wrote the cover-up for it, that they meeting was not "to get information on an opponent, but that they supposedly only discussed "adoption."
