Trump and His Ladies
This isn't a big deal. And it's just tangential at this point, compared to all the other huge issues that are concerning Americans as we head into the Mid-Terms. But it's important for what it signifies, especially when you want to show strength as people head to the polls. And especially when Trump has long said "I alone can fix it" and "I know all the best people." And that’s the firing of Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle for brazen corruption and firing Katie Zacharia after just five days for utter incompetence and lying. Both are extremely minor compared to the other issues, as I said – but coming on top of all the others major issues, and with both being SO public, both being so egregious, and both tied directly to Trump personally putting them in their positions, (from the guy who says “I know the best people”) – yes, they’ve very minor, but so public that they’re the cherry on top of everything that comes across as blatant incompetence by Trump himself. After early voting has started, and Election Day coming in 17 days.
Further, the Guilfoyle firing does overlap with corruption, given that it's a story about her asking a major Trump donor for a $100,000 favor -- which she says she'll repay as a favor.
And the Zacharia firing, while nothing more than humiliating, was utterly humiliating. Just clownish. Not only clownish for having to fire the person who was hired specifically to represent him, but clownish for how bizarrely incompetent she was.
And the thing is, we can sort of extend this to a trifecta. Not with a firing, but with a third woman in the Trump circle caught up in a major scandal -- and one that completely overlaps with corruption. And that's the story of Trump's person attorney in the White House, former parking garage lawyer Alina Habba Mildon. A story where a Venezuelan billionaire -- indicted for bribing a government official, which Trump's DOJ knocked down to a misdemeanor (of course!) -- who wanted even the misdemeanor erased and get a pardon, and so he reported paid Ms. Habba Mildon $50 million for a non-existent job. For which he got his pardon.
The additional whimsy here is that billionaire Julio Herrera Velutini seemingly committed bribery to get a pardon for bribery. Your reminder, too, that Alina Habba (before she was married) is the person who said that if she had a choice of being pretty or smart, she'd choose pretty. It seems like she might want to reconsider her life priorities.
The story also makes the point is if you're the most powerful man in the world and have a wide choice of who you want to hire to be your personal lawyer, considering that you know all the best people, you might not want to settle on a parking garage lawyer. But then, if you alone can fix it -- regardless of what "it" is -- why do you need a personal lawyer in the first place? And since you also are a malignant narcissist, why do you need a spokesperson?
And if you're going to get your son's ex-fiancé out of his and your life, by sending her out of the country, as far as possible, maybe you should have realized that Greece isn't far enough.
Yes, again, this is minor. But it's all so damning for incompetence and even corruption as part of your final message as people go to the polls -- on top of all the other corruption, high gas prices, a war Trump can't end, high consumer prices, brutal immigration policies, the Epstein files and more. That last thing Trump and MAGOPs needed was this. But then, when you have dementia, which is degenerative, and are surrounded (as we can see here, all the more) by unqualified incompetents, this is what you get. Even when insist you know all the best people.
And we didn't even mention Natalie Harp.
