Today's Puzzlement

This is a bit of a follow-up to my article yesterday on Mitch McConnell's "Scorched Earth Society" rant on the Senate floor.  A thought about it all came to mind later, and one I haven't heard discussed by analysts.

If Minority Leader McConnell says the Republican Party will push their Wish List if Democrats remove the filibuster -- why then is he so upset about the filibuster ending??  You'd think he'd welcome it with open arms!

All I can figure is he knows that a) the majority of the public would hate the Wish List, and b) he wouldn't be able to pass it with support of the House and White House into law.  Maybe there's another reason, but the bottomline is that, whatever the reason, his swaggering doesn't mesh with his reticence.
