Timing is Everything

They made it under the wire! The Chicago Cubs announced today that they have finally scheduled their celebratory White House visit -- and it's for this coming Monday! While Chicagoan Barack Obama is still in office.

Four days to spare...

Even though President Obama a White Sox fan, and there will no doubt be some good bantering from the president, I'm sure the team is thrilled it worked out this way. Him, too.

Otherwise, if the ceremoney had been delayed until the next Administration came in, this might have been the first team-championship visit where maybe six people showed up.
