This Land is Your Land, This Land is Migrant

The other day, Trump posted one of his longest, maniacal online rants that got a little bit of attention online at the time, but then got swallowed up by other, bigger news.  But it deserves significantly more attention because it’s “big news” all on its own.  Happily, although the extremely-long, unhinged tweets themselves haven't gotten as much notice as they deserve (if only for mental health reasons), some of the individual comments in them as political issue are.

Notably, he wrote that he wanted to “permanently pause migration” from poor "Third World" nations and promised to look into expelling millions of legal immigrants by revoking their legal status.

But it goes much further, as he blamed immigrants for all manner of problems in the United States, including not only high crime, but urban decay, overcrowded hospitals, housing shortages, and large deficits (never mind that Trump has created the largest deficits of any president in U.S. history – to Trump, it’s the fault of immigrants).

By the way, if you’re wondering how the housing shortage fits in there, that can be explained by something “JD Vance” raised several weeks ago, saying that there was a housing shortage because “illegal immigrants” were supposedly buying up all the homes.  Yes, really.  Middle-class Americans can’t afford to buy homes, but “illegal immigrants” can and are buying them all up.

And Trump demanded, in all caps, “REVERSE MIGRATION.”

I should add this this was Trump’s warm Thanksgiving Day message to the nation.  And no, I don’t mean “part of” it, wedged in there among the heartfelt feelings and good wishes.  I mean…this was his message.  It began –

“A very Happy Thanksgiving salutation to all of our Great American Citizens and Patriots who have been so nice in allowing our Country to be divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, and laughed at, along with certain other foolish countries throughout the World, for being “Politically Correct,” and just plain STUPID, when it comes to Immigration.”

The thing is – well, normally I don’t post Trump’s insane rants.  But this one deserves posting.  Since it’s so crazy and so long, I don’t want my limited quoting from it to give the wrong impression.  It wasn’t some jotted off snarks, it took him two postings to get it all in.  And while you don't have to read the whole thing, to save you peace of mind, it's good to just see it all as, at the very least, a graphic.  Because it was…well, this:

Yes, really. This is the president of the United States.  With his Thanksgiving Day greeting and good wishes to all.  "...except those that hate, steal, murder and destroy everything that America stands for.

The good news is that when Trump says "You won't be here for long", it is overwhelmingly more likely that his words will relate to his own remaining three years in office than that this fascist, racist, hate-filled, delusional dream of his will ever be found legal or go anywhere.

What also leaps out – very importantly – is that this is Trump not only showing out-loud his long-held racism and White Supremacy, but also giving lie to his and the MAGOP claim that they're not against immigrants, just (supposedly) those who are "illegal."  Just read the very first sentence – it’s all about the U.S. being “just plain STUPID when it comes to Immigration.”  Trump talks about “immigration” throughout  the whole rant – not “illegal” immigration.  He’s talking about revoking citizenship from legal immigrants.  He’s complaining about how “United States Foreign population stands at 53 million people.”  Once upon a time, Trump ranted about how many “illegals” we had in the U.S. – and always exaggerated that number.  But here, he goes after all immigrants.  The entire “Foreign population,” he says, in the United States.  All 53 million of them.

The good news is that he calls the “people,” and not “vermin,” like he has in the past.  The bad news (for Trump) is that he’s woefully short in his number.  After all, the U.S. is a nation of immigrants, and unless you’re a native American, the “Foreign population” of citizens in the U.S. is 334 million.  This includes Trump.  And his wife.  And his children.

Moreover, Trump’s greatest vitriol is for saved for those immigrants who are not from countries he like, but those who are poor.  The Third World” countries, he says.  You know, the places he’s called “sh*thole countries”.

This is the ravings of someone with dementia.  But still, every MAGOP in Congress should be asked if they agree with him.  And if they said they didn’t read what he wrote, they should be asked, “You didn’t read the president’s Thanksgiving Day greeting??  Why not?”

Journalist Andrew Feinberg is a White House Correspondent whose work has appeared in Newsweek, Politico, Washington Business Journal, The Independent, and other publications.  He wrote in response --

“This sounds a lot like they’re going to start trying to cancel green cards and denaturalize large numbers of non-white people who came here legally based purely on ideological and religious tests.”

Yes, it sounds a whole lot like that.

I was trying to figure out how to finish this and put it all in some sort of perspective.  (Not that much perspective is needed, this is pretty blatant hate-filled fascist xenophobic racism.)  But the same day I saw Trump’s rant, I also saw an online posting from one of the Trump apples that hasn’t fallen far from the tree and carries forth his father’s words and beliefs on immigrants, not just those who might be undocumented.

It came from Don Jr., who was responding to a story in the Wall Street Journal that said "Afghan refugees "shouldn’t be blamed for the violent act of one man. Collective punishment of all Afghans in the U.S. won’t make America safer and it might embitter more against the United States."

And to this, the First Son wrote back --

"Give me a fucking break. The RINOs at the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board want us to be flooded with millions of America hating migrants who don't share our values. This is a good reminder that it's not just Democrats responsible for this - It's the globalist RINOs too."

And all I could think – immediately – was that, as I replied back:

“You personally have been given more ‘fucking breaks’ the last nine years (let alone in your life) than most families have in five generations. The depth of arrogance, ignorance and racism (not even against anyone "illegal" but all "migrants") is breathtaking.  By the way, your dad's approval is 33%.”
