If you didn't see Jon Stewart's Monday hosting on The Daily Show, he did a virtuosic takedown of corporate self-congratulatory, but weak support of Gay Pride month -- and then expands it to corporate support for any cause...or pretty much anything. It's detailed, pointed and extremely funny.

I’ve always loved Jon Stewart…always. But I have one caveat with this video— he makes such fun of the red-headed fellow in one of the ads — to the extent that this fellow might lose some jobs. I didn’t perceive him as gay, but even if I did, such disdain and dismissal of the guy is, to me, cruel and dangerous to the guy’s future. I feel terrible for the young man.

Treva, thanks for your note. And I understand your point -- though I have a couple of additional perspectives, which might strike a chord with you...or not. The first is that I didn't *at all* get the sense that he was joking about the guy looking gay -- but rather that the woman was hot-model beautiful, and the guy looked like sort of an everyday goof with his floppy red hair, glasses, and (what the ad was for) a skin condition, and so (Stewart speaking for himself and on behalf of everyday guys who've asked out beautiful women and been laughed-at rejected) there was "NO WAY" she would be going out with not only him, but *anyone* who didn't look like a male model. (Note, too, that that that part of the segment wasn't about Gay Pride Month anymore, but corporations supporting diversity,)
