The Weekly Show This Week

Jon Stewart hosts The Daily Show on Mondays, but on Thursdays he hosts The Weekly Show -- a podcast featuring in-depth conversations with guests on some of the day's most complex issues. Also, producers and friends of the show occasionally come by to discuss the latest headlines, or whatever is on their minds.

I'll post some of these from time to time, as the spirit moves me.  (The video versions they make available...)  They're very good, very thoughtful and very serious, almost no humor in them, except when an off-handed quip pops up.

On this “The Weekly Show” podcast, they write that “Despite what cable news may have you believe, Donald Trump is not the sole threat to our democracy. This week, we’re peeling back the rhetoric and taking a look at where the vulnerabilities in our institutions lie. In conversation with Jane Mayer, chief Washington correspondent for the New Yorker magazine and Noah Bookbinder, President of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, Jon explores the roots of our democratic dysfunction. From ever-multiplying dark money to shark tanking ideas for tax transparency, this episode has it all”

They also add One Fact Check correction: "Jane Mayer mentions that Jon said the FEC is about as useless as male nipples. It was, in fact, Jordan Klepper who said this."
