The Light is On, But No One's at Home
For the past couple of years, Brian Williams has been as politely scathing as one can imagine someone to be. And these three-minutes are just him being a low-key, understated infuriated gem -- which even at that builds to a top-notch finale. It's about as impressively good as he's been,
But what most stands out is not Brian Williams, but the first 30 seconds of video of Trump at this Ohio rally last week.
Though the Trump footage has gotten its share of attention, what commentators and Williams here don't say, though, but which I think stands out the most when Trump asks the audience, “Do you know who I’m talking about?” The impression is that he's prompting those in the crowd to participate and involve themselves in his commentary. However my theory is otherwise. I think he does that because the TelePrompter went past the passage and he actually doesn’t know who he’s describing. And so when he asks, it’s not rhetorical, but he’s hoping someone answers. Which no one does, but he's screwed it all up, and no one has any idea.
Including Trump himself.
We theorize, you decide...
