The House of Stewart
The series The Problem with Jon Stewart has been back on Apple TV+ for several weeks, and this one was particularly good. The episode is called, "This is what democracy looks like?" -- and they describe the 37-minute episode as "The most important midterm elections of all time are here (again). But the game has changed." All the better, it opens with Stewart behind the desk for a 15-minute funny, formative and infuriating -- for lack of a better word -- monologue, much like what he did on The Daily Show.
I can't embed the video, but if you click on the link here, it will take you to the website, where you just click on the "Play Episode" button to watch the show.
And for those of you thinking about, "Hmmm, do I want to watch?", I was going to embed a snippet of an interview that would likely get you to check it out -- if not the whole show (and wonderful monologue) then at least to jump to the full interview. Well, good news! They have since posted the full segment. It's a sit-down interview Stewart had with Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich on the 2020 presidential election. It is a master class in how all interviews should be handled, And to Brnovich's credit, he didn't leave, helped in part by how polite (albeit incredibly blunt) Stewart is.
