Several months back last year, I wrote here about a little-known musical by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse called The Good Old, Bad Old Days, a sort of God and the Devil story. It never opened on Broadway, though had a run in London. I post a Thanksgiving Day song from it and mentioned that the title song was very good, as well as a few others, including "Musical World." I was going to post the title song, but then to my surprise came across a video of Newley performing the song. I'm still tempted to post the cast album cut, because it's so good and with with Newley-isms. But when you have a video, hey. And the first part of this is actually good and reasonably fun with the production. But it's from some British variety show in 1972, and alas, about halfway through the number gets a bit out of control and over-the-top. However, enough of it is good that it's worth seeing that part done right from a lost show.
