The All Stars are Out Tonight
You may recall that a few months ago, I wrote here about first baseman Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs, and embedded a wonderful, glowing feature on him that the MLB Network aired, including the tale of his overcoming Hodgkins disease.
Well, just to update you -- he was just selected to the National League All Star team today. It's his second time as an All Star, following his selection last year.
Also, if you read any sports pages, you know of the Cubs rookie Kris Bryant, a gem of a guy who was voted the Minor League Player of the Year last season, and is having a terrific rookie year.
He was also selected to the National League All Star team. Neither he or Rizzo were voted in as starters, but backup replacements. But still.
O joy. Hubba!
