On Monday, when recounting here the latest part of my saga about all the missed typos (now corrected) in my new novel that slipped past my proofreader, I mentioned that it reminded me of a great sketch from Bob & Ray, about a man who'd just written a massive history of the United States that turned out to be filled with monumentally glaring errors. Well, with much thanks to reader John Ford, we have the audio of that very sketch! My recollection is that this is from a late night series that ABC ran opposite the Tonight Show, called something like "ABC's Wheel of Entertainment." There was a different show each night -- Jack Paar was on a few times a week, and there was this particular show that was sort of like the political satire, That Was the Week That Was, plus one or two others. (I recall some comedian referring it to "ABC's Wheel of Indecision.) I believe that this Bob & Ray sketch was on that political satire show. But wherever it was from, here it is now.

well, heck... thanks for the nod Dr Elisberg... it's Mark Evanier's (well his blog's) fault I'm a reader here. :) I like reading about media written by folks who actually like it enough to praise the good and rail against the bad. I try to hew to the latter at my place of employ, KAOS-fm in Olympia WA.

Reading Mark Evanier's website can occupy a great deal of a person's life. Though it does make that life more fun...
